About

One person, 46 films. Zero meetings.

Hi, I'm Abu Ashraf Masnun. I write software for a living and take photographs for the love of it, mostly chasing Fujifilm's colours and tones.

01Why Chobial

I wanted my iPhone to shoot like my Fuji.

Apple's Photographic Styles are lovely, until you shoot RAW and they quietly disappear. Filter apps bake a look into a JPEG and leave you stuck with it. I wanted film on the RAW, live in the viewfinder, and the freedom to change my mind next week.

So I built the camera I wanted: every photo stays a negative, every film is a recipe you can open and change, and nothing is made up by a model. Then I kept going, because there's always one more film.

02How it's made

Small on purpose.

  • TeamOne person, a lot of coffee, and the same hibiscus, photographed far too many times
  • BetaOn TestFlight since 28 September 2026, with a new build most weeks. See what changed
  • Films46 built in, and every one a recipe you can open and change. How they're made
  • PrivacyNo account, no analytics, no ads. Your photos stay in your own iCloud. Policy
  • MoneyFree to shoot, develop and make films. Pro, once or by subscription, keeps the lights on
